The
Costa Blanca has sub-tropical Mediterranean weather,
with cool sea breezes in the summer and mild temperatures
in the winter.
The
World Health Organisation recommends the climate
of the Costa Blanca as one of the most equitable
climates in the world, it's not too hot in the
summer and not too cold in the winter.
Alicante
weather is superb with over 300 days of sunshine
per year and Alicante is probably one of the Costa
Blanca's best kept secrets, for many tourists
simply use the airport and fail to visit this
wonderful city.
In
the middle of the Costa Blanca, right on the coast,
the Alicante weather is renown for its mild climate.
This is probably due to the Mountains and Hills
to the north, keeping average annual temperatures
above 16 degrees and the average annual rainfall
to around 20 days per year.

Due
to global warming the Alicante region has become
very dry with little rainfall, compared to previous
years. The weather is usually very warm and predictions
for the next century are devestating, as the already
dry area is predicted to have even less rainfall
due to changes in the weather due to climate changes.
2006
was the driest ever year on record and steps are
being taken to ensure that this region has enough
water supplies by taking water from surrounding
areas, rather than taking it from sea water which
is very costly.
